A new modern Cantonese restaurant has opened in Sydney’s North Shore, in Castlecrag’s Quadrangle Shopping Village.  It offers a menu showcasing Cantonese classics with a modern twist, a new take on traditional Chinese food. . Photo – supplied. The dishes on offer have seen chef Jason Chan fusing together traditional flavours with new ones to give it that twist. You’ll find hot and sour, sweet and spice and we personally love that numbing sense, to be found in particular on those chicken wings.
3.5/5. Jason Chan (Former Queen Chow) has opened up a new venue in Castlecrag called Canton Kitchen which showcases modern Cantonese cuisine. The venue has taken over where Holy Duck! used to be. Canton Kitchen has a colourful and artistic decore which is reflective of its food. Matt and I attend the launch with my fellow media and influencer food lovers.
Real rating: 3.5/5The interior was really nice – awesome wallpaper and ambience overall was relaxing. The food was pretty good. My favourites were the seafood mapo tofu and the tofu with vegetarian XO sauce. Other than that, everything was quite mediocre. The deep fried ice cream was pretty disappointing – they didn’t make the ice cream cold enough before deep frying so the ice cream was half melted by the time it was served at our table. The sago was awesome though! It was very hard getting the attention of the wait staff but they were very friendly.
