Busy little cafe. Our waitress was new and advised us, she was lovely, helpful and friendly. Other waitresses seemed flustered and unsure of who was getting what order. We sat and watched another worker use her hands to scoop what looked like icy coffee mixture from a mixer, then take money, then use the POS then pick rubbish off the floor and go back and continue using her unwashed hands to handle the icy mixture for the ice coffee drinks. We then watched her use a drinking glass to scoop ice out of ice machine ( just what everyone wants.. glass shards with my drink). Food came out pretty quick.. one downside- almost an entire tomato with each dish. For 2 juices (watermelon and orange), french toast and a eggs benny it was $51.60..so pretty expensive.for what it was.*edited to add :- both of us have been sick all afternoon/evening since eating here *
Over cooked eggs(in both eggs benedict and baked eggs), bad coffee and poor service when they were asked to be reserved. Overpriced and not that great of an experience.
For a local spot this cafe is quite average. The customer service is always friendly and decent at times and the dining area is clean. Some days there is a long wait and other days the food is brought out relatively quick. The food served here is quite average in terms of both taste and presentation. The eggs benedict poached eggs, which i have ordered on a few occasions seem more hard-boiled than poached as they’re always overcooked rather than runny as they should be.The cakes are quite nice however depending on the day they’re sometimes not as fresh. The fruity french toast was the most enjoyable menu option. I also like how breakfast is served until late in the afternoon. The menu, while reasonably priced as it is would be well worth the money once these minor flaws in the food quality are fixed. All in all, despite being average in food and service, De’la Roma cafe isn’t so bad for those needing a local catch up spot.
First time and definitely the last… Wanted a quick, easy & cheap breakfast so we ordered two egg and bacon rolls with coffee. Our bill came out to $30!! I asked for soughdough bread but that was an extra $2. Coffee came out quickly and was great but we waited approx 15min for our $10 egg and bacon roll. Not for someone on the run and someone on a budget.
I ordered an eggs benedict and it came with avocado and spinach a standard eggs benedict does not come with avocado. I was then rudely told by the waitress that they have done it this way for ten years even though i had been here only once before.. and that i should have asked for no avocado even though the menu stated exactly:Eggs benedict:- salmon- bacon- hamThis is the second and last time i will come here and I advise that if you do come here make sure you ask for every ingredient in your meal because if you get the wrong thing that’s your fault.
Upon entry I noticed the menu prices and thought this must be a great place as only hatted restaurants can charge these prices for food. To my disappointment I was served with arrogance and the food was less than average. If you are after quality service and food then i suggest looking elsewhere. Disappointed is an understatement. I would not be writing this review if I wasn’t treated so poorly by the staff. No eye contact was ever given and when I tried giving some customer feedback I was simply told that it was my choice to dine there in future or not. Do not waste your time and money here.
By far the best coffee in Liverpool. The owners and staff are very friendly. Nice place, popular among locals.
