Bright open and with an amazing view, you couldn’t ask for too much more. Magpies have taken up residence for left overs at lunch time so if birds are something that have you screaming in fear, skip the outside area with the views. Our love for afternoon tea outweighed our dislike for birds but they did give us a spray bottle if they got brave trying to pinch crumbs. The chocolate cherry cake was moist , tart and well balanced. The coffee was nice and the cookies are sweet and crumbly. I loved my chicken Caesar salad and the crumbed fish and salad was nice too, if a little heave on the dressing. There are high chairs available and a kids retreat room that can come in handy when the adults want a long lunch. It could do with a sign indicating where the entrance for families with kids under 18 is as we got scolded by otherwise lovely staff for using the incorrect entrance (tab & alcohol services I think) and having the kids too close to the bar where we order food. No magpies at dinner time which was a nice Relief. Slightly pricey .
Dinner time arrived quickly and we headed off to try the highly regarded Malaysian food of Vistana. They do a roaring trade with take away but they also have a decent sized area to dine in – which we did. We started with some flaky and tasty roti cannai with curry dipping sauce while we chose the rest of our dishes. Our first main was possibly the favourite of the night for Mlady. It was the Vistana dry curry beef – a spicy and aromatic dry curry with tender beef, onions and fresh kaffir lime leaves. The flavours were excellent – strong yet compatible. There was plenty of tender meat there too!
Great spot but the food is overpriced and no service at all (line up to order) this is our local and we always wait at least 25 mins no matter how busy for dinner. Love the place though (good pub) but everything is expensive
