This is a very comfortable and homely restaurant. However we were a couple and wasn’t aware it was as family friendly as it was. There were children all around us with loud toys and iPhones, totally out of the restaurants control however it wasn’t the intimate dinner for two we had thought. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the pork belly as an entree and the steak was delicious. The waiter was friendly and had excellent suggestions.A really lovely restaurant with excellent food and service.

We stopped by at Amanda’s for lunch on our wine tasting day. After reading good reviews about the restaurant before going there, we went in with high expectations – AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The food was amazing. My boyfriend and I shared two entrées and two mains. For entrées, we had Seared scallops with cauliflower puree & gruyere crisps, and Crab & snapper ravioli with champagne butter sauce. The scallops were perfectly cooked but the dish was a little bit too dry for my liking. Ravioli was definitely our favourite dish. It was silky smooth and the filling was perfect. Give me bread rolls and I could eat a whole bowl of the sauce just on its own. For mains, we had Portuguese spiced spatchcock with roasted sweet potato, Spanish onion & harissa, and Thrice cooked duck on sauté leek & shallot with plum compote & potatoes. Again, the meat was perfectly cooked. Spatchcock can be easily overcooked but they didn’t. It was still juicy and sweet. I love the duck but my boyfriend found it a bit too sweet because of the plum compote. Overall, it was a good dining experience and a nice stop for lunch in between all the wineries.$130 for two for the food and a glass of wine each

Food was nice but lacked a little refinement for the price. Service was attentive and the restaurant had a nice warm feel. We ordered the scallops (they were small scallops) and pork belly to start, both of these were delicious. For main we ordered the duck and the lamb rack, the lamb rack was our pick. The duck was very heavy. And I agree with the other reviews, for what you pay to dine here it’s a bit steep to be charged for the bread rolls! They should definitely be complimentary.
