Sadly, we were all really disappointed with the Deck Cafe. There is so much potential with its location, set up, and the menu, but the cafe didn’t pull it off. Upon arriving, the cafe was buzzing. Full tables inside and outside. A waitress came over to us and, at first, seemed a little confused as to why we were there until we told her we were looking for a table to have breakfast. She then kindly sorted it out. Tables were clearing as it was getting later into the morning. Despite this, it still took approximately 40 minutes for our breakfast rolls to be served. After waiting that long, it’s an uphill battle for a good review. Sadly, the dishes that were served up were not delicious enough to be worth the wait. Parts of the dish were cold but we couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer. The menu is quite expensive. The $15 brekky roll was a good size but probably worth around the $10 mark.

Amazing location to have your breakfast , just beautiful .And the interior decoration of the restaurant was just amazing. Seating outside is recommend ( my preference) thought inside is also good . And the staff was really friendly and good. Drank some coffees , and had omelette with feta cheese , asparagus ,heirloom pesto tomatoes ,and charred sourdough. And egg Benedict with beetroot and gin cured salmon gravlax. Would definitely recommend everyone to stop by here for a lovely breakfast. Some pics coming up

Such good service, and food to match! The menu was reasonably priced. It is a little out of the way, but the turnover was quite quick considering. The waitresses were so lovely, and had no problems with adjusting the meals because of my dietary preferences. Definitely will be back every time I head up to the Hunter.

The place looked promising with a wide selection on the menu, seating outside on the deck, children and pet friendly, and when the food arrived it looked good! however it was a little underwhelming. I had the wood roasted salmon which had a lot going on the plate, the flavours didn’t compliment each other unfortunately. The beer battered fish was ok, nothing special, the chips could’ve been more crispy and brown. The only good thing was the iced coffee. Lunch for 2 people was $75 which is quite expensive for what it was.

Visited this place for lunch, while we were out for a drive to Newcastle. The Ambience at this place is simply amazing, coming to the food was a perfect blend with a bit higher pricing which is essentially needed to run the entity.
