  • Critical Chef

A lot of Hunter establishments are attempting ‘fancy’ and pricing accordingly. They would get eaten alive in Sydney by critics and public alike for overpriced, ill conceived fare that is well presented mediocrity at best. Elizabeth’s does the cafe thing well. No unnecessary ‘faf’ to justify over inflated prices..Breakfast is reasonably priced and as good as the competition, if not better. Menu is broad and the chef produces the fare well. Friendly staff and a nice view. Tried once and returned again and again

Dined here with the boy enjoying a boneless spatchcock with baby beets, watercress, feta, orange segments & vinaigrette & a herb crusted barramundi fillet with avocado salsa. Ingredients were fresh and menu although seasonal, a little old school. Staff were friendly and looked after us. Could pick wines from their cellar door at cellar door prices (can take home if unfinished). Overall nice lunch option in the hunter that’s more reasonably priced (~$25 per main) than a lot of the other fine dining options. Would recommend.

The serving sizes were decent and the service was good. The restaurant has a pleasant decor and it’s well worth visiting.

  • My Cousin Vino

Nice Intimate Setting. Located in the heart of the hunter valley at Mount Pleasant Estate Winery. Great atmosphere for lunch while touring the local wineries. Amazing tasting room with tons of wines available to try. Enjoy the delicious local fare and great service in a nice intimate setting.
