Fantastic food, view, service and atmosphere. We booked at the last minute on our New Years trip to the Hunter. The service was down to earth and friendly and our waiter was also the owner of the restaurant. We sat outside and while the furniture and fixtures were understated, this just accentuated both the calm and relaxing nature of the location, but mostly the amazing taste of the food. We shared the pork belly for entree (almost a main size) and had the Three Pin Lamb Rack and the Bavarian Pan for mains. The size of the meals were ample and very very good for the price (circa $30-$35 for mains). The breakfast menu also looked amazing and we won’t hesitate to visit again on our next trip to the Hunter. A must visit if you’re looking for a relaxing meal among the trees and vineyards!

Absolutely charming! The food & wine were exquisite (we tried their Avalon, it went perfectly with the hot weather), the service was charming, and the site is just stunning! We loved our experience, will definitely go back and highly recommend it to all of our friends! As a bonus, the musical choices of the owner Friedy were fabulous. His wife Kerry was very welcoming and overall our evening was nothing less than perfect! Go there, you won’t regret it!

Best in the Hunter. Our el-fresco lunch could not have been better !!! Nothing was a problem. The chef even made us the deep pan served Bavarian beef dish which was only on the dinner menu but caught our eye . The serves were substantial , prices good & the service excellent. We had local wines from Berand winery & when we commented on how much we enjoyed them Friedy our maître-de ( & new best friend ) arranged a private tasting for us just down the road . We will be going back for dinner in the cooler months for the goulash ..

Good food but service could have been better. I and four friends had brunch here the other morning. Service was very slow and I was extremely suprised when I asked for soy milk to go with my museli and was informed that they don’t offer soy milk. My friends ordered the eggs benedict and they looked amazing and I would definitely recommend.

Small operation but with a real warmth to it. Beautiful grounds. Crepe Suzette cooked at the table was a real treat!
