Lovely food and nice services. Very enjoyable experience to stay in Chateau Elan and play golf at the Vintage. The best holiday resort in Hunter.
The food and wine were great, however, the service left a bit to be desired. Quite clumsy – had to pour our own wine every time, the sides came when we were just about finishing the main. If they could lift that up just a notch, would have been a great day experience.
Fabulous Food, very elegant place, with beautiful golf course sense. Staffs were nice and provide very good service. The lamb shoulder was just perfect, tender and juicy. The other dishes were good as well and looked amazing.
A boring meal served by confused back-packers didn’t impress me, or the international visitors I was hosting. Like the diners in the review posted prior to mine, and the other guests complaining during their meal, we, too, had to pour our own wine, which hardly made a solid impression on my guests and frankly, it was cringe-worthy. Having seen Legends Grill listed on another food review website as offering vegetarian meals, my guests were badly let down when they discovered the usual old-fashioned vegetarian fare on the menu. The other selections available were nothing special for the expenditure, which was considerable. I was unimpressed by the stale menu and although the wines on offer are worth exploring it is, after all, the Hunter Valley, so when we return in a few weeks we will be taking our custom to one of the good restaurants I’ve been to before!
