Every few years, I succumb to that old feeling, and have breakfast at McDonalds, to recapture a childhood memory of over forty years ago now: Hashbrowns! That particular saltiness of the breakfast sausage patty! This time, we were coming back from Newcastle to Sydney from the Cher concert (her farewell tour: fabulous). The McMuffin was amped up: it had proscuitto on top of the sausage! While it looked limp and badly put together, it was more delicious than I’d remembered, and nothing really beats a McDonalds hashbrown. In the meantime, there’s now table service (!) and they’re serving lattés in glasses, which are perfectly acceptable espressos. The space looked open and modern; the floors looked pretty dirty and disgusting, but the rest of the space looked clean and light.
