Used to come here a bit in their previous incarnation as Golden Bo. Now the sign might have changed from the outside, and the paintings on the wall refreshed, but it’s still essentially the same menu and run by same people. Super busy on Friday night, we waited a few minutes before even getting noticed by anyone, then have to wait again for a table to be cleared. I normally go for a pho or some sort of noodle soup, but this time ventured a bit & got the Vietnamese crispy pancake. The dish look pretty much per the menu, but the pancake itself was too thin & fragile, not crispy and impossible to hold together. Everything just fell to bits and I ended up eating it with knife & fork. Inside the pancake were some small prawns, few bits of spam, lots of sprouts. Not be best Vietnamese pancake in taste or price value. My friend stuck with the pho and enjoyed her meal.
Ordered:1. Lemon grass pork chop (4/5) – I can eat a whole plate by myself plus Pho, and I usually dont like to eat much meat, this says something about how good this dish is 2. Pho – average to good (3.5/5)3. Three colour iced drink (3.5/5) – sweet which compliments the salty dishes Will I go back: yes and this restaurant feels cleaner than those at Eastwood and city
Excellent selection of Vietnamese food and very spacious for groups or families with children.Highly recommend their Beef noodle soup (Pho) weve been going back for their soup many times and will continue to do so! Good job guys.
My favourite Viet place in the north shore. And thank god it’s here so I don’t have to drive to Cabramatta for Viet food fix. Their salads are fresh and flavours on point, especially the lemongrass chicken/beef/pork – just delicious! The pho is a bit too sweet for my palate (I still prefer Xic Lo). The duck curry is thick, generous and delicious. The crispy duck is to die for especially when ordered as a set with the rice noodle soup. I now come here almost once a week. In this summer heat, Phood is perfect.
This is the first and last time for us going there. The pho was really terrible. The soup was tasteless and it wasnt hot. The coconut is not even fresh coconut. They actually reuse the coconut and add syrup and serve again! We actually saw empty coconut in the chiller and the staff in the kitchen immediately shut the door when he saw we were looking in the kitchen. I wouldnt go back there again.
As good as pho gets in the North Shore (cant compare with pho in the West, but its still decent)Meat and noodles were pretty generous, will probably return when I cant be bothered to travel for pho
The best pho in chatswood, go there every week. great service too, my only choice.for pho so far, good potion, good taste, good environment and convient location
