Spot on Chicken without the beer. Just ordered the Honey garlic and the sweet chilli and it was pretty mouth watering, seeing others ordering it too. I reckon they should include like some rather what beyond spicy flavour into the menu as it would actually attract people to come and eat.

Chicken was super nice! Not a big fan of the dipping sauce but I love the crumbs on the chicken. Its very flight and fluffy, and the chicken is very juicy. Not very oily at all. I would come back again because the chicken is great!

First heard about them in Melbourne! They opened up a store in Chippendale and we decided to try it out. The corn cheese is definitely a must! You really cant stuff up a corn cheese. Only issue that it came out too soon! And by the time our chicken came out, the cheese had begun to solidify itself. We opted for the garlic soy and sweet chilli as recommended by the waiter. Garlic soy was ok, pretty basic. The sweet chilli didnt taste like sweet chilli, but it was still marinated. They were quite generous with the portion sizes. It comes with free coleslaw, which we declined. They have heaps of indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are very affordable. The also have a decent variety of side dishes. Overall, the chicken was ok. Not sure if well come back, but it was a good experience.

Been waiting for quite some time to try this Hype Korean Chicken, and decided to have dinner here. I ordered the boneless chicken with sweet chilli and original flavours. The original was quite good a bit of salty and spicy from the pepper, but if you eat it with rice, it becomes tasteless. I would prefer the sweet chilli one than the original. Overall, might coming back but not soon. Service was limited but not bad.

So-so.Great that this is conveniently located a short walk from Central railway station and the George Street bus hub. We arrived pleasantly surprised by how spacious this Melburnian establishment’s first foray into the Sydney market was, which added to our impression of the ambience. While there’s something for the cramped Korean restaurants of the CBD, Strathfield or Eastwood, this was a refreshing change. As for food, Gami doesn’t offer too many things other than chicken, Korean snacks and minimal staples (thankfully, there still is rice). However, what it does it does (or aims to do) well. While we thought the fried chicken was solid, well fried without the greasy aftertaste and served with delicious sauces, the chicken itself tasted quite bland and lacking texture; there was no crunch or crispiness that others had spoken of. As for the side-dishes, there weren’t any that you’d expect from a traditional Korean restaurant; there was only the chikin-mu (chicken radish) that is served with fried chicken. This radish tasted off, in that it lacked firmness and perhaps freshness, as well as the tartness or acidity to contrast the taste of the chicken.Price was fine and about par for fried chickengenerally, expensive and, of course, much more than if you had prepared this at homebut that’s the price of eating out.All in all, not a bad experience and glad to have tried. Food was okay but service, especially while the restaurant was quiet and slower-paced, made it worthwhile. While we wouldn’t strongly recommend this place, we would recommend to give it a try to form your own impression and try this northerly expansion of a known Melburnian entity that had initially started because four Korean (from Korea) students had thought to go in on forming a business 10 years down the line from their university days. (How endearing!)

Been to this chic place twice and absolutely loved everything here.Boneless chicken is for lazy people like us who never like to get our hands dirty while sinking our teeth into some succulent meat. Half original to go with the honey mustard and half soy garlic, this is the definition of guilty pleasure. Have to comment on their honey mustard sauce, although not strong, it goes so well with the chicken. Being megapotatoes we also ordered the Potato Haven (capitalised. Love their naming sense). It’s a divine blend of cheese, sweet chilli, sour cream, mash and wedges – as potato as one could get. One little tip: dip your chicken into the mash/cheese mixture.
