This was the best meal Ive had in Sydney by far. Forget about the daggy decor and the fact that you are pretty much sitting on each others laps in this tiny space. Focus on the food because the food is excellent, better than youll get in name restaurants. Beautiful homemade soft bread and butter was a welcome starter. But the standout dish for me was the octopus, eggplant pure, pea tendrils. I could not identify the protein at first, because it was so soft and delicate. Thats so often NOT the case with octopus. Everything on that plate worked to create an explosion of flavour. Secondly, the braised asparagus and the charrred broccoli with preserved lemon. Ive been cooking braised broccoli with goats cheese or goats curd, and preserved lemon ever since. The pasta was very delicate, with a subtle hint of brown butter- delicious filling. All wow! I was too full to order dessert but that will have to wait till next time. Service was personal, warm and natural.
