The food is fine, and the drinks too. Often full, the place is good for its vibe and concert place on the basement, rather than the food itself…

Classic American burgers, one of my favourites in sydney. The only place I know in Syd that does a sloppy joe. The hotel us usually pretty quiet at lunch, staff and service is good.
If your looking for a pub with good food and atmosphere then this is the place for you. This place gets busy and they have a good space which is great for large gatherings and get togethers. I highly recommend the cheeseburger.
Youth is wasted on the young, as the saying goes. With that in mind The Chippo Hotel is probably wasted on me – it is definitely one for the milennials judging by the clientele and volume of noise. They are obviously doing something right though as it was absolutely packed on the Saturday evening I attended.I dined here with a group of five, which gave me a good overview of the menu as we ordered a selection of starters – Louisiana Coconut Shrimp, Yankee-Doodle Meatballs, Buffalo Wings, Yam Fries – between us as well as a main dish each. I had the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich for my main. The meatballs and wings were passable but the shrimp was a slightly odd dish and the shellfish was obviously not particularly fresh. The Yam fries were soggy, again a ‘unconventional’ dish that sounded better on paper than it tasted in the mouth. My burger was fine if unspectacular.Chippendale is quite a dining hot spot these days and, to be honest, I would look elsewhere if eating out there again. thernbdiary.com
This hotel was a buzz on a Saturday night when we went for dinner. The menu had more than your standard pub options with a range of shares, burgers, salads and mains. When it came to the starters the meatballs and the buffalo wings were delicious however the sweet potato fries and coconut shrimp were underwhelming. I went for the grain fed sirloin which came with a large serving of potato bake and green beans – it was good without being great. When it comes to salad the haloumi and chicken salad is a good choice. The hotel had a busy and bustling atmosphere and is a good spot for a drink if you are in the area.
Packed Saturday night and was surprised at how fast the mains and entrees came out. It honestly took a lot longer to line up for drinks at the bar but the service makes up for it. We shared everything and loved every bite. SIRLOIN STEAK cooked perfectly, crispy skin on the SALMON FILLET and a touch over cooked but balanced out with the CAULIFLOWER and HALOUMI CHICKEN SALAD. Loved the cumin on the eggplant base of the CAJUN SHRIMP, juicy MEATBALLS. All in all a great meal with friendly service. Great night out! thenextrushmagazine.com
Great steak! $29 succulent juicy cooked eye fillet steak.. great value, restaurant quality for half the price. Cheeky burger cheese is the same as Oxford st place, NOT the Mac and cheese was a Little dry.
