Came out here for a round of golf at the famous Bonville courses. Absolutely stunning course. Was also looking forward to ordering something from this restaurant, I’d heard the great reviews and chefs hat.Wasn’t disappointed, pretty good bacon and egg roll and coffee as well. And the view looking out over the course makes everything taste so much better..

Very ordinary and overrated. Very ordinary indeed for a 1 hat restaurant. We went for lunch based on their 1 hat award and were very disappointed with the food and service considering the price. The best thing about the restaurant is the lovely outlook onto the golf course. The wait staff were friendly but did not extend themselves, no offers of menu advice or even cracked pepper for our meals. The waitress brought us some water and a filthy drinking glass, which had to be sent back. The glassware was all scratched and had dishwater marks which was very off putting. They either need to update their glassware or get a new dishwasher. We ordered the chilli squid $20 which was very nice and the crab with angel hair pasta $32 which was very ordinary and quite a small portion. Still hungry we ordered the cheese platter as well. The cheese selection had a nice blue but a bland cheddar and brie and could have done without the Arnott’s water crackers. Another type of cracker would have been classier for a $25 platter. The beer selection is dismal and the wine that we chose was okay but overpriced. The whole dining experience could be better at this restaurant with a bit more effort and attention to detail. A suggestion may be to use local produce and to inform the customer of this. Locally there are better restaurants such as 2 Oak Street in Bellingen (definitely worthy of their 2 hats) and Macauleys in Coffs Harbour. I would like to try a dinner at the Flooded Gums for comparison but not in the near future.
