  Very disappointing evening at the Greenhouse Tavern. i should have taken note of other reviews I read. Food ok but terrible service and extremely rude staff. We went with our extended family of 10 on Boxing Day. Was told we could not place order for more than 8 meals at once so we had to do separate 2 orders and our food then consequently came out at all different times (some of our group finished whilst others were still waiting on meals). We had to wait for an hour for our meals even though the place was only one third full and when we finally went to order dessert at 8:33pm we were told that the kitchen had closed 3min earlier. When we politely suggested that perhaps in future they could advise customers that the kitchen is closing at 8:30 when people are ordering meals or put up a sign or something to advise customers, all we got was a shrug and indifference from the manager and a whinge that it was a public holiday and they had been really busy night and they had enough of demanding customers and It was too bad we missed the kitchen. Like wow. Ever think that maybe if you have a lot of demanding customers it is because you are doing something wrong?

  Bardziej stołówka niż restauracja. Klimatyczne miejsce to raczej nie jest ale jedzenie było ok. Po przybyciu na miejsce nie spodziewałam się niczego nadzwyczajnego. Bardzo długo czekaliśmy w kolejce żeby zamówić jedzenie, znacznie krócej czekaliśmy żeby zamówienie odebrać. Przy tak dużej liczbie klientów jedzenie było dość szybko podane. Mąż zamówił steka który był smaczny i zrobiony dokładnie jak sobie zażyczył (medium-well). Ja zamówiłam sałatkę sweet potato z wołowiną. spodziewałam się że mięso będzie ciepłe było jednak zimne i trochę gumowate. Taka sobie restauracja nie najgorsza nie najlepsza. Jeśli nie ma nic innego w okolicy to można skorzystać ale jakbym miała wybór następnym razem poszłabym gdzie indziej. Budżetowe jedzenie, budżetowa jakość.

  After having a chicken schnitzel the day before, we looked online for some cheap eats. We saw that Greenhouse Tavern does $11 meals. As it was a Thursday night, they offered either a Chicken Schnitzel or Yearling Beef Schnitzel on their website. We made the drive and found the tavern. From the outside, it looks run down. And the beer garden/smoking area that you have to walk through was not much better. Their dining area is huge, with outdoor and inside areas. When we arrived there were not too many people there and a few staff walking around. As we already knew what our order was, we ordered at the counter. Service was not overly friendly but wasn’t horrible either. When we ordered we asked for the Beef schnitzel but were told emphatically that they do not serve beef schnitzels. I was taken aback at the remark and panic ordered the chicken schnitzels. I did not think until later that I should have mentioned the website. Oh well. We ordered two chicken schnitzels and a cheesy garlic bread. We got to a table and realised that no tables are set. They have a rather uninspiring bench where you grab cutlery, napkins, sauce, salt and pepper sachets. Being the amount of staff, unsure why they couldn’t set tables or at the least have shakers. The bread came out really quickly. The buzzers that you are given are really loud. I mean screaming at you loud. I grabbed the garlic bread and sat down. I was able to have a bite of the bread when the screaming buzzer went off again. If you miss the buzzer going off then there could be a concern! The chicken was a decent size considering the price. As we have dined at a few places in Coffs recently, lots of places do the very cheap meals. The chicken was nice and moist, and was a good meal. The disappointing part of the meal was the service considering the amount of staff idly walking around. It doesn’t take much to do the little things.
