We just had driven into Coffs Harbour and decided to have some lunch. We walked across the street from where we were staying and walked into the Park Beach Bowls Club. When you think of bowls clubs, you don’t have positive thoughts for a dining experience. We saw that they had a $10 lunch menu so we thought we might as well give it a try. Expectations and reality were the furtherest apart here! We signed in and looked at the menu. The dining area is expansive and looks like they have done it up recently. It looks like they put the money back into making it look great. We decided on Chicken Schnitzels and went and ordered at the counter. The staff were friendly, and even though they were busy, they greeted us at the counter. We ordered the schnitzels, which is $12 for non-members. Still a very reasonable price. I got up and ordered some drinks at the bar, and within a couple of minutes got the drinks. As I walked back to the table, the meals were already there waiting for me. Did not expect to receive our meals that quickly. The meals were cooked perfectly as well considering the quickness that they came out! You would expect a chicken schnitzel for $10/12 would be on the smaller size. Well, again expectation and reality were polar opposites! The schnitzels were huge. They covered the plate and were really good quality chicken. A great surprise! We looked around at other peoples plates, and all meals looked like quality and a generous size! We had a laugh as we looked at the menu for dinner, as for $15 the dinner menu had a large schnitzel. Considering the size of ours, I would hate to see the size of a large!
