A nice looking restaurant with a good solid menu options. A variety of tasty seafood dishes, meat, fish and risotto – tried some of the menu items last night and we were very happy: mussels – fantastic and deserve 5 stars on their own; pasta with prawns – amazing; special menu was pretty good too; beetroot risotto – was a very tasty dish but for $29 I would expect a rather bigger portion size. Since we had a voucher, the value for money was awesome. The service was good. I would recommend!
Having been frequent pre-theatre Sunday lunchers at The Peppercorn (the former restaurant on this site) we were eager to see what Malinas had to offer. The dining area is generously proportioned with comfortable and elegant table settings. The service was very friendly and attentive, but that was a little difficult to really judge on such a quiet night. The natural oysters and buffalo mozarella were a tasty entree and the whole schnapper for two in salt crust was expertly served and delicious from beginning to end, accompanied by perfect potatoes and a fresh green salad. We opened with a glass of house sparkling and accompanied our meal with a a South Australian Riesling. We understand the chef is about to broaden the menu in response to customer feedback but as it stands now, overall Malina’s is a fine addition to varied Cremorne dining scene and deserves more custom.
