We’ve driven past many times and noticed how busy the place always is. This Sunday evening we felt like some good Italian pasta and we were in the area. We got the last table and it was pretty busy for a Sunday evening. We decided on the special and a cream sauce pasta. I must say we were tempted by the look of the pizza but stayed with our initial choices. Overall, great staff, great food and great atmosphere. We will be back to try the pizza next time! .. judging by the constant stream of Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Menulog drivers, the place is popular for pizza and pasta home delivery.
Having been here maybe 5 times now this place never fails to impress. They manage to nail every aspect of hospitality., our waiter was attentive and professional. Despite the place being packed, we never had to wait to be served, place our order or get our food. The food itself is something else entirely, all other aspects pale in comparison to the amazing quality of every dish. I can’t stress how great this place is enough. If they tell you you’ll have to wait, then wait!
Went there for lunch with hubby n daughter. Promptly seated by the hostess. The decor is lovely and quaint. We ordered a Pollo pizza and a Gnocchi Gamberi & Asparagi. The pizza was average but had a nice crust and was not too heavy. The gnocchi was yum.We ordered the tiramisu for dessert and it was so good! Light and creamy..had us craving for more.Centrally located, beautiful ambience, lovely service and yummy food. Definitely coming back!!My ratings:Food – 5/5Ambience – 5/5Service – 5/5
Ordered via deliveroo earlier in the week. The food was really well wrapped up so there was no spillage, and everything was still hot on arrival. The seafood was ok, didn’t taste like they were fresh. The tomato and herb sauce the seafood was poached in was delicious. The gnocchi bolognese.. The gnocchi was a good texture, cooked well and tasted good. But the bolognese sauce was pretty average, despite it being a popular dish. The flavours of herbs gave a strong fragrance which was good, but the taste didn’t really deliver.. Really just saltiness came through, and there was a lack of depth of flavours..
Ordered a ‘5 Fomaggi’ pizza bianche (listed as mozzarella, provolone, gorgonzola, salted ricotta, parmesan), and was quite disappointed. Received a pizza with grated mozzarella, shaved parmesan, & pre-grated parmesan on it. No salted ricotta, no perceivable gorgonzola or provolone. The parmesan was overwhelming, throwing off the balance of the pizza, and the base had no white sauce, garlic, herbs or perceivable olive oil (I’m aware pizza bianche has no pizza sauce but the crust should be/ is usually brushed with something for flavour, not just covered in cheese alone). Without the variety of cheeses expected, or a brushing of herb/garlic oil to liven the pizza, it tasted like a plain grilled cheese sandwich – not something I’d spend $24 on.The arancini ordered was similarly disappointing, being filled with a large amount of very hard, stale, withered & discoloured peas, that I had to pull out, and not much else. If the peas were omitted or fresh baby peas were used instead, these would have been great, but I don’t want to have to pull peas out of my food because they are so old they’re hard to chew. The plain pumpkin puree served with the arancini did not suit in my opinion, and would have been better replaced with a tomato based sauce. Not all was bad! My partner’s ‘pollo’ pizza had tasty toppings & pizza sauce, and both pizzas had lovely woodfired thin crust. The tiramisu dessert was excellent & well balanced. However, this is at least the 4th time the food has not been up to scratch for the prices, so I had to leave some feedback.
