| Crows Nest | Chidori | A newly open restaurant/bistro that serves up Japanese food in an traditional and modern setting. They are known for their sous vide Tonkatsu pork, omelette rice and ramen! Been keen to try it and here is my experience. ..W.T.H Killing Hot Spicy Ramen – On my first bite, the Charsu was quite nicely tender, has boiled egg, noodles were silky and soft. As the name implies it was so super spicy it literally brought tears to my eyes. Overall the broth isnt too thick. Delicious and What the heck hot! A ramen meal not for the faint hearted .Shirunashi Tan Tan Ramen – This ramen is probably my favourite ramen, it was creamy when mixed with the egg, the meat is marinated quite nice, was fragrant. Never tried ramen like this anywhere else! Def give this a try again when I come back here .. Sous-Vide Tonkatsu – Chidoris signature dish is one of the reasons why I had to come here. Its cooked in a slow method in a very low temperature which allows the meat to retain its moisture and flavour! Once thats done it gets deep fried to give it that extra crispy on the outside and tenderness on the inside. Its served with the sauce. But eating this alone was more than enough for me. Excellent..Omelette Rice – This is a hearty home style dish which reminds me of the time my mother cooks up heart warming egg and rice dish during the winter to keep me warm and loved. This exactly what it felt like to me. Its served perfectly with grilled cheese, cheese and tomato sauce. The eggs are milky creamy that sits on top of soft rice which has chunks of chicken pieces in it. Lovely! .Ito En Unsweetened Green Tea – Great way to wash down your thirst after a good meal. Cleansing and refreshing! .Thank you @chidorijapanesebistro for a brilliant meals!
MODERN FINE JAPANESE ..: elegant, tasty and polite is how I sum up my experience @chidorijapanesebistro 5 mins from the heart of crows nest, this 1 month old restuarant is serving up traditional japanese cuisine with a modern twist. Plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs + easy street parking, and service with a smile!.. omelet rice + grilled cheese: omg this has to be the first time Ive actually liked this dish, the rice was flavoursome like a fried rice with chicken mixed through, that grilled cheese sauce was the bomb! The Star was the egg: soft, fluffy and creamy. Perfection.. tonkatsu: omg was this crispy or what! Each munch gave a crunch and tender sous-vided on the inside! Loved the sauce that came with the dish.. w.t.h. spicy ramen: oh em gee was this spicy or what?! Lived up to its name! . shirunashi tantan: I really loved this ramen, once the egg was poked into, and mixed with the broth, it was creamy and tasty as! Not shy on the toppings, it was definitely my fave..deep fried buns with brown sugar: the brown sugar craze doesnt stop at bubble tea I tell ya! It has expanded to the world of Japanese desserts, and that crunchy bun coated in brown sugar was delicious! If you love brown sugar, you have to try this!.. ..Thank you @chidorijapanesebistro for the invite!
