Small patisserie with the steady steam of people coming in & out on busy Saturday morning. Luckily I was able to nab a table to enjoy a couple of coffees & some pastries. My mix of small pastries were all great, choc croissant, plain croissant & strawberry danish, all had crispy pastries. Not too buttery, but just enough to not be dried. The coffees were good too.
Boulangerrie has been around for sometime, yet i dont remember hvg stepped foot inside. They never seem to be empty each time i walked past though, must be quite popular with the locals. As the name implies, you’ll find all sorts of pastries, croissants n cakes. They also offer some gluten free cakes. I grabbed an opera this time, was attended to quickly with a smile. Way better service than st malo bakery down the road n cheaper too.

Coffee is consistently of good quality.Service can often be quite unpleasant; partly because of the staff’s non-native English but mostly due to the attitude. If the staff can show a little more care to customers then I can see this place becoming a very comfortable place.
Returned for a coffee run. They use Campos beans but I wasn’t a fan of this blend which was sourish. The coffee was also served too hot which may have affected the flavour. We also shared a very rich and dense brownie, far too sweet for my preference.—Previous review—I’ve only had cakes from La Baguette, the Opera and the Success. Both were very rich and dense. The Opera was the sweeter of the two, with a hazelnut and chocolate profile while the Success was a sinful creation of thick ganache sandwiching layers of chocolate cake. The cakes are probably not as refined as those from Lindt or La Renaissance but still delicious.
