Came here for breakfast and had the big turkish breakfast with additional gozleme. I love these types of breakfasts. There’s so much variety. Quality is excellent and portion is generous. The scrambled eggs are really fluffy and the spinach and cheese gozleme is really good. Sit outdoors in the sun. I highly recommend having breakfast here.
Transport yourself to Turkey at this lively restaurant. Nestled on a popular corner street in the heart of Crows Nest is Turka, serving traditional classic Turkish dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ive eaten Turkish food occasionally before (and went to Istanbul a good few years ago) so I was keen to try something a bit different and try the Turkish breakfast menu. When dining for two, the big Turkish breakfast platter is perfect, and plenty of food to feast your hungry eyes on. Starting with the platter, there is an array of little trays of fresh and homemade ingredients, I didnt know where to start! An assortment (4) of traditional Greek cheeses, olives, jam, honey, yoghurt, seasonal fresh fruit, dried figs and apricots, walnuts, tomatoes, cucumbers, tahini & grape molasses and Turkish pistachio halva. My favourites from the platter was: homemade cream cheese with honey (the cream log in the photo) which was very creamy and I loved the sweetness from the honey; Sesame tahini pastries & grape molasses – the sweet and savoury combination worked very well, tahini reminds me of peanut butter and therefore mixed with some grape molasses worked extremely well on the taste buds Turkish pistachio halva – this was a dessert and a pleasant surprise! Halva is a middle eastern sweet made with sesame flour and honey. The big breakfast also comes served with traditional Turkish scrambled eggs (rumelia menemen) with tomatoes, capsicum and parsley and a basket of toasted, buttered bread. The eggs were fluffy and not too creamy. We also ordered a side of traditional gozleme filled with spinach and ricotta which was one of the best Ive eaten, the pastry was delicate and flakey and not oily at all. We additionally tried a simit which is a traditional Turkish bagel with sesame seeds. Turka bake their bagels fresh daily, I loved breaking into the bagel, the bread was so lovely and soft with a slight, crispy outside. For drinks we ordered a traditional Turkish tea (I loved discovering this tea in Istanbul), turmeric latte and an iced latte (for the caffeine fix, it was perfect). When we first arrived we were offered still or sparkling water, it was a nice pick-me-up to start with some sparkling. This was a giant breakfast feast (fit for a king and queen!) and we tried our best to eat everything but were defeated. I loved how there was such a selection of fresh ingredients on the platter including fresh fruit. And a big plus that it was an entirely vegetarian breakfast. We were well attended by the friendly staff, thank you to Veronika and her colleague for looking after us. I am very keen to come back for the lunch and dinner menu next time. Note: I dined as a guest of Turka, all views and opinions expressed above are my own.

GENEROUS, GRAND + GOZLEME FOR BREAKFAST! ..: i mean seriously, what more could you want? I was so bedazzled from the moment I walked in, having wanting to come here a couple months ago, now I was sitting here with a gorgeous breakfast platter handcrafted beautifully by the chefs @turkacrowsnest this really takes me back to the time when I was in Santorini and when they bring out a full spread, that made my heart bounce inside! The service was immaculate, they were so welcoming and made sure my visit was pleasant and one to remember! The ambiance made me feel I was in Europe and the seating was so spacious and cosy!.. big turkish breakfast: half a metre platter board filled with 4 types of turkish cheeses, olives, assorted jams, honey, yoghurt, salad, tahini, grape molasses, dry fruits/nuts, traditional scrambled eggs + fresh fruit! This board has been well thought out, from well-balanced tangy savoury turkish flavours to treats to fresh fruit to cleanse your palate! It was such a wonder exploration exercise for the tastebuds . spinach & feta gozleme: this was so good, and reminds me of spanakopita! Was so yummy when you squeeze the lemon on top!. bagel: !! The bagel was the cream of the crop! It was chewy, and with loads of roasted sesame and fluffy on the inside! I would just be so happy eating this at home every single morning . turkish juices (peach + sour cherry): these were so refreshing and the flavours definitely shined through turkish coffee: if you like your coffee strong, then you need to try this! Sure kept me going the whole day! Also that Turkish delight was sooooo good with the lovely aroma from the rose water turkish tea (apple + black): that turkish apple was so nice, it reminded me of a Granny Smith apple flavour .. ..If you want a true authentic Turkish experience, this is this is the place to go!
