Came in for brunch one weekday and the atmosphere was like a morgue, very quiet and the decor is very plain. Nothing much to say in the positives, average coffee, okay food, reasonable service.
Food good ( not brilliant) and plentiful. Coffee is very good but service sadly lacking. After I received my food, no one came to my table (over 1hour) to take away dirty plates or ask if I wanted more coffee. You missed out on some business. Also, it would be good to clean the front windows….. I would say it is some time since this has been done. Give attention to the detail….. It’s the little things that count.
Came for lunch and had the chicken schnitzel (it was ok,the size matches what you pay but the hot chips were soft and kept getting stuck in my throat) and they gym junkie smoothie (pretty good, not like Boost Juice but still has a nice strong flavour) Food came out pretty quickly,Prices are a little less than expected,Service is casual It’s not bad food here
Partner ordered a Salmon Caesar Salad, I ordered peanut butter toast.Great portion of servings. I appreciate the crispness of the salad greens, that’s a big plus from me though was not a fan of the dressing on the salad. My peanut butter was decent, I’m happy with the fact that it was tasty as it should be -there’s not much one could so with pnb toast.Other days we treat ourselves for a Big Breakfast here. I find that when the store owner, Alex is present on the premises, the quality of the food that comes out of the kitchen is taken care of. On mornings he isn’t there, we found our mushrooms overcooked to the point of rubbery, hasbrowns over baked it would crumble as you try to stake it with your fork, unseasoned scrambled eggs.
This place was FANTASTIC!!! Until they changed owners. The former ladies who owns the place knew about service and good food. The place has gone right down hill since the young guy bought this place. It is a shame as we went there every Sunday comfort breakfast and always took people there who lived it also. Don’t waste your time or money, go elsewhere.
God damn, you should’ve just trusted your instinct for white ppl brunch food. But i did have a blood test this morning, was feeling a lil woozy and this was the closest cafe without a long wait. We all make mistakes I suppose…Ok so the latte was too hot and seemed burnt. I know Tobys Estate beans have a distinct flavour but this was wack. I picked one of the specials from the chalkboard; a brekky wrap. It was bland and it was like the oil everything had been cooked in was tainted with vinegar or something. Also the phrase ‘$2 surcharge for service with a smile’ that was written on the chalkboard was not cute or cheeky. It was plain obnoxious, especially since I had to pay nearly 20 for a small meal that tasted pretty bad. The organic brie and juicy nectarine I bought from the grocer next door (and just gobbled down) was in fact a way better meal.
I have been here a couple of times now and I really like it. The owner is an extremely friendly chap. First time I had the chicken schnitzel with chips. And it was yummy. The portion was really big for me though and had to take most of it as takeaway. My friend had the barraburger which came with fries. The fries were a bit too salty but the taste of the burger compensated for that. The coffee is fantastic and I really like their presentation style as well. Awesome place to hangout at croydon!
