Despite its outward appearance, this cafe is cute and cool. When given a long and detailed cocktail list I wasn’t expecting much – however each cocktail was beautiful served and balanced (the pricing needs to adjust on them menu, all cocktails including spritz are $20 dollars). Food was Spanish and fantastic. What was missing was engagement from the staff, no explanation of the menu, recommendation or even a how was your day. Improve on engagement and cocktail pricing and I will be back!
A retro style cafe with banquette seating, Arcana Cafe is an ideal spot for a meal and a catch up because you can actually conduct a conversation at a comfortable volume; tables are sufficiently spaced and the acoustics are such that you won’t need to shout or gesticulate wildly at your dining guests. My shakshuka was richly flavoured and a decent winter’s day meal, although I would have preferred it a little on the saucier side.
