I have been here for dinner years before but decided to try this place again for our Friday team lunch. Service was friendly and the food was good as I remembered. We shared the la mint pancake, pave de pork and duck confit with cherry glaze. The highlight dish was unanimously agreed that it’s the pork which was so tender and tasty with their caramelised sauce mixed with plain rice. The duck was hard to share amongst us but the meat itself was very tender and fell off the bone easily. Prices are probably on the higher end for a Friday lunch but that pork was so worth it!

Loved this place! Great service, and every dish was delicious. Loved the soft shell crab & squid starter–fried, spicy, garlicky. The pork belly had an amazing flavor, but it would have been better if it were crispy. The scallops were also amazing–on the shell with lemongrass, fried shallots and peanuts.

Group of 5 dined here for a birthday dinner, we opted for La Mint Share Plate option of 9 courses at $65 pp. The restaurant atmosphere is relaxing with comfortable ambient lightings throughout. We started with first three courses on a plate, Papillotes aux deux fromages (cheese pockets), Vietnamese rolls and grilled scallops. All components were tasty and well made, especially enjoyed Scallops which was cooked and seasoned very nicely. Banana Blossom chicken was next, chicken was tender and salads were refreshing. Chili shallot & salt tossed soft shell crab was very flavorful but was slightly salty, ordered a bowl of rice to share which was a good accompaniment for the dish. After that we had Salmon dish, this was pretty great; salmon steaks were cooked perfectly, skins crispy and meats were flaky and juicy. Next dish was our last main dish which was pork belly, few of friends ate this and I requested for vegetarian alternative for my girlfriend and I which was Fried Tofu steaks with duo of shitake and enoki mushrooms. Everyone told me the pork belly was cooked really well, skin was caramelized; pork meat was tender and seasoned beautifully with hint of chili note. My Tofu dish was fantastic! I loved the crusty fried Tofu jacket perfectly soft to bite, enoki and shitake added that additional pleasant chewy texture. The sauce had good flavor profiles, although I was pretty full by this point I did end up cleaning out the dish!Next we receive two dessert courses, first dish we all absolutely adored; La Mint Pudding. The pudding was very gently sweetened with hint of mint and melon which went perfectly with the gently salted coconut sago sauce. It was perfect ending of the deliciously umami 7 courses. We received our second dessert, which I wish I didnt have; Poached pear with warm chocolate sauce and vanilla Ice cream. Pear wasnt poached enough and came out cold, Ice cream didnt taste good neither was the melted chocolates. This was without a doubt the weakest dish from the course and everyone agreed it would have been better if we ended our meals with the Mint pudding. We also drank Mocktails throughout our dinner; we ordered original version and unsweetened version of mint and lemongrass mocktails, Consensus is the original version is sickly sweet however unsweetened one was refreshing and nice. All in all a great restaurant to dine with group of people or on a date. goodtasteguide.blogspot.com

Love this Restaurant – Have been back about 6 times over 8 years. My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary on Saturday night. I have been here about half a dozen times over the last 8 years or so. I have NEVER been disappointed. The service is always excellent and the food even better. I highly recommend the shaking beef, the salmon, the crispy chicken and the pork belly. Their main meals are around $30, but when you compare this to going to some of the more expensive restaurants on offer in Sydney where the minimum spend is $125 each or more (w/o alcohol), then you still come out much better off. My husband and I bought a French bottle of champagne to share, a sparkling water and 4 mains to share for $175.00. Thank you very much La Mint – you made our night 🙂
