If I recall correctly, this establishment touts best seafood in Sydney, or words to that effect. Thats a bold claim. And a dangerous one. Which proves to bepatentlyerroneous. Its easily eclipsed by at least two other nearby venues: Costis & Old Fashioned Fish n Chips; both of which are much cleaner, sleeker & slicker, with appreciably better food, at lesser prices. DY Seafood seems to get by, stitches, as it is, into the very fabric of the DY ghetto, on a steady flow of resident bogans, which it doesnt deserve. Looming gentrification & coming competition ought to motivate do-or-die change, but itd be gratifying to think pride, alone, might. But I wont hold my breath.
It is my second time eating at Dee Why Seafoods. This time was much better than the first, not sure if its because we got takeaway the first time so the food wasnt as fresh. We both ordered the exact same meal. It is the Dee Why special which consists of grilled fish, choice of salad and chips. We got the Caesar salad as our option. I tried the broccoli salad the first time and it was terrible as it made my feel nauseous so dont opt for that option. The grilled fish is soft and lightly seasoned, perfect if you dont want battered fish along with chips that have been deep-fried and adding to the unhealthiness of your diet. The Caesar salad was great too except it had too much cheese in it. It is a decently priced meal for lunch or dinner and I highly recommend trying the grilled fish. janicexrose.wordpress.com

This place is unfortunantly very over rated! extremely over priced, the pumpkin in the salad was not cooked properly, the service was very negative and the fish was soggy. I do not recommend this place at all!!
Got some beer battered snapper and chips today and it was the best I’ve had since arriving here in August 2011.Not quie up to the standards of the chippy in chip pan alley, Skegness but the best yet.
Best Seafood shop on the beaches. The best seafood shop, on the northern beaches, daily fresh seafood straight from the Sydney fish markets, I know, because i live nearby, and see the lads unloading their supplies from their truck, every morning, And talk about value for moneyUd be hard pressed to find any better value, for quality fresh seafood anywhere in Sydney, I reckon, Try them out! Their fresh prawns are nearly half the price then any of the other fresh seafood outlets along the beaches! and just as good, if not better.
