I am a regular of Jar Bar Dee Why and have always had a great experience and I decided to take my sister whose birthday it was and 2 friends who had never been before as I had always talked up how great it was. The service was appealing very slow, our drinks sat on the counter for over 20 minutes and when I mention this to the staff walking by he looked as if I was inconveniencing him. The food was too slow coming out and it was NOT busy – there was staff at the bar chatting. We had to go over to the bar to get them to chase where our food was. Suffice to say it was a very disappointing experience and I won’t be back.

Great place to come and hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon. They have a tapas style menu and some things on there are really quite outstanding. The fish tacos are an absolute must – highly recommend. It’s a little on the pricey side and service can be a little hit and miss at times but really only when things are very busy. View out to Dee Why beach is fab – great place to bring visitors.

Great spot by the beach and the ambience was fantastic, really busy for a Friday winter night. The food however was rather disappointing, way too expensive for the tiny portions we received. Yes the fish tacos are fantastic but the rest of the menu was such a let down. The cheese platter was toast and cheese. On the upside we had great wine.

Supremely average breakfast on Anzac Day. Understaffed to the extreme – one server who was friendly enough but run off her feet, to the point there where tables were just left in a mess while she managed the few with people. Breakfast Burrito has gone way downhill since it opened. A bit of scrambled egg with some potatoes in a wrap with one measly slice of bacon. Not a surprise really that it’s the only joint with empty tables out front for breakfast! Half a star bonus for the great coffee.

Two words: fish tacos.Seriously, what just happened? explosion in mouth…. twice. That’s right – had to get a second round of the fish tacos. Super friendly wait staff and really tasty bloody mary certainly didn’t hurt either. I’ll be back…tomorrow.

Great food. Great spot! Service slow at times. Gluten Free flatbread is amazing! Generally a good experience. Seemed a lil understaffed. Pork belly tacos are bloody amazing!

Little joint near the beach but its lovely. The staff are friendly and the food is pretty good too. Loved their potato and jalopenos starter.
