Have dined there several times and every time the pizza’s have been average which is fair enough …you get that. But I had to write this review after my experience today with the very rude manager which i wont get into, so one star for poor customer service.
I like coming here for a cocktail and a desert on a Sunday. Also, meals are good but would like more vegetarian options. Meat eaters love it here
I came here with my S/O for my birthday last week – so it was a surprise for me to end up here – usually I take a glance over the menu before I eat somewhere so this was a bit out of the ordinary. The entree was garlic prawns served in a sauce which we shared between the two of us. I had it with a glass of Totara Sauv Blanc. Great combination – the prawns were served with a piece of Ciabatta bread for us each, and what an explosion of flavour to be served. Definitely left me hungry for the main. The main was a seafood pasta (with squid ink!) and a seafood risotto. The pasta was something interesting I have to say – I think it was the black colour of the squid ink that makes it stand out in my mind? The risotto on the other hand was really nice and thick + creamy. I have had better risotto though to be fair. I think the portion was surprisingly large (never something to complain about) but I think it was almost too rich to finish. I would have loved to try desert but I was honestly too full! I also had a Mojito – it was nice but I’ve had better – I think maybe too much simple syrup for what is already a sweet cocktail with rum in it.Expect to pay a little more at Stella Blu – but not too much more. I think its probably worth it – you can see the beach and its candlelit with mood and quiet music in the background. I think you would however have to appreciate those things to see the extra value in Stella Blu. My waiter was an awesome dude! Didn’t catch his name but he was helpful and cheery, and gave us enough time to think about what we wanted to order. I noticed another review on here said that service took a long time and was rude – I would totally disagree – not my impression at all.Would be a pleasure to dine here again in the future although I’d love to go back for lunch this time so I can appreciate the waterfront view!
Chanced upon Stella Blu on the way to another Italian restaurant. Liked what we saw – the live music, menu and ambience – and decided to check this place out instead. What a pleasant discovery! The food was sensational, service was fantastic and the location (which was facing the beach) was great! I ordered the seafood spaghetti, and it was just what I was hoping for. We had the mussels, oysters, slow-cooked lamb, risotto, garlic bread, tiramisu and creme brle, and every item checked the above-satisfactory box. Very pleased with the service too. Waitresses were polite, accommodating and made the whole dining experience all the more palatable. Five stars for Stella Blu!
Rubbish. This one of the worst levels of service I have ever received in any cafe or restaurant in Sydney. Been here twice and never again. Definitely avoid on a special event like Fathers or Mother’s Day – they don’t cope and are rude and extremely slow. They’ve been here a long long time and solely due to location have survived. The other surrounding places are far superior. Rude, rude, rude management.
Been coming here for over five years. Never disappointing but throughout the years we had some better and not so good stuff happening. In the end I am still dining here on regular basis. A perfect beachy restaurant. Reminds of some places in Europe on the Northsea shore albeit with more sunlight!
Awesome lunch and geat cocktails during happy hour…Saturday arvo catch-up with friends. …perfect….waiter staff friendly what more can you ask for
