I don’t usually bother with leaving reviews but after visiting Dubbo last night and finding this gem I felt I had too!Absolutely beautiful food, great service and a large range of gluten free options available which we need as our son is Celiac. Definitely left the LION’S PRIDE FAMILY RESTAURANT super impressed and with a full belly!! 5 stars!
Restaurant is under new ownership since 4/18. I have not dined there – yet but know the owner. Give it a try and post your review. The new owner is kicking goals and will appreciate all feedback good and bad.
The Lions Pride Dubbo used to be located in a standalone building that suited the feel of the meat focused food. It was a big country style place that you associate with steakhouses and the like. But now they’re located within the Countryman Motor Inn. Unfortunately this means it has lost a lot of it’s atmosphere and now feels very much, well, like a motor inn restaurant. Nothing special but just a place to eat while on the road.
The food was amazing! The steak was mouthwatering! The service was very good at the beginning but bad towards the end. Waited 35 minutes for the dessert menu, in the end we just paid and left.
Schnit: Chicken Schnitzel with Bacon and Mushroom sauce, $28.I have high hopes for any place with an entire page of their menu dedicated to the Good Meal, the great Schnitzel. Those hopes were quickly dashed, even as this plate was served up I could see there were a number of issues. My poor Schnitzel had been sitting out in the Dubbo cold for some minutes – enough for the sauce to develop a skin. Asking and not receiving sauce on the side is Schnitzel sin. Bottom of the barrel chips (aka fried oil), overcooked. Biting in: Chicken itself was tough, and only ‘warm’. Crumbing was nice, and managed to keep it’s crisp bite despite the sauce on top – then again perhaps I was just eating quickly thanks to an hour’s wait between ordering and the Schnitzel reveal. Sauce was tasty. Salad was pleasant and ingredients varied. Serving size did not do justice to the price tag, especially since sauce here contains a large markup from a regular $22 Schnitzel. $6 for sauce? Wow.Busy night is no excuse. Would not return, especially at these prices.
