The grumpy barman with the newspaper is, in fact, a lovely person in disguise.
Do not bother eating here. I’ve eaten here 3 times now when meeting friends who live close by. I gave the food a chance to improve with different menu selections but it is just disgusting. The beer does taste like beer though.
I went to this hotel for lunch with my partner. As soon as we walked through the door, it felt like we were invaders from another planet. The vibe wasn’t exactly welcoming. We chose to stay anyway. The staff, save a few , and management were very unfriendly . I stood at the bar for at least five minutes by myself while the grumpy manager read the paper. After he decided to look up and was aware I was there he served me., somewhat begrudgingly. We ate our meals, which was one saving grace to this otherwise uncomfortable experience . Never again !!
JUST AWFUL. This hotel is just awful. It is void of any style or character. The staff are very unwelcoming, making it feel a bit uncomfortable . It really has nothing to offer unless you enjoy being numbed. Go there with someone you don’t particularly like . You can always play KENO or watch any number of television screens. It’s morgue like atmosphere compels me to go elsewhere . YUK.
Gladstone HotelPretty boring. This pub will serve you a beer, but it doesn’t have much more going for it. Staff are not unfriendly, there are TVs if you want to watch sport, but the decor and vibe are pretty dull and there’s not really any reason to want to spend much time here.
Good food good price. Great pub food. everyone agreed they would come back! Served quick . 2 schnitzels and 1 lamb shank.
A huge change has happened to dining at the Gladstone Hotel Dulwich Hill!. Well, what a surprise! Some of the best hotel bistro food Ive had ever! Really great tight menu with many favourites, but also adding a Greek twist that really pleases. The steak was almost beyond belief, as was the Souvlaki, Octopus and salads. What a great menu all topped off by fantastic friendly staff and great service. Outstanding wines add to the whole experience.
