I’m going to review the bar staff as the food is fine not review worthy pub grub.I read one review where someone was asked if they can leave as they don’t like whinging children here. And then told why don’t you go back to where they came from.Look I use to be a local and like the joint as a drinking hole but if you are the type of person that writes food reviews yeah you won’t. I’ll keep it short but the paper reading barman that has been mentioned many times in the reviews is quite a piece of work. I get not liking what you do but to take it out on a disable guy that walked in on hot day and asked for a glass of water is bloody disgraceful.

The Gladstone Hotel Bistro has come a long way!I absolutely could not fault this place for a decent pub meal. We had the lamb shoulder, Chorizo Pasta and I had the special which was lamb ribs. The pasta was massive and nicely spicy, the lamb shoulder was well cooked (though could have used some vegetables). The little guy got the kids spaghetti. Mine was the lamb ribs though and they were seriously great. Easily adding a .5 to the score. They were moist, tender, flavourful, well cooked and had just the right amount of BBQ sauce. They were also CUT UP which was brilliant, I hate frigging around with a huge rack of ribs that I have to chop up THEN eat. It also came with a free drink for $26, and the bar served a very decent shiraz. At the end of the meal we got some takeaway containers as there was enough pasta for two more meals – so we ended up paying about $52 for five meals in total (plus my wine). Brilliant – we will be back and I’m looking forward to reviewing the burger for the Fatties Burger Appreciation society.
