HUNGRY SUMMARY – great place for kbbq in EastwoodFOOD – Kbbq meat platter. The meats were really good and the sides as usual were generously provided.PRICE – $80. There were 3 of us and it filled us OK. Fair price but I’ve seen more economical places.SERVICE – went on a Saturday night so it was packed which explained the lack of attention by the waitstaff but that is understandable. Atmosphere is great. Be prepared to queue so try and book in advance!
Their budae jiggae was pretty good – didnt slump on the ingredients like how a lot of other korean places do. They also give a lot of side dishes so that makes this korean restaurant more favourable than the other ones.
You wont find a Korean bbq joint much better than Jonga Jip. Come here for their complementary sides (9 small dishes of little bites which are refillable) and also their fantastic quality of meat. We ordered the deluxe meat platter and also the bibimbap. The bibimbap wasnt too remarkable and we couldve done without as the meat was fantastic and had us patting our tummies afterwards!
Update: Rating: 3.8/5. October 2018, Ive been here twice the last 2 months and the quality of the grilled meat dishes and side dishes have gone down, maybe its a new chef? Im not sure.—May 2018:Jonga jip always delivers with delicious Korean food and the yummy side dishes! Ive been here a few times and always order the spicy pork dish and the spicy seafood and tofu soup. These come with a bowl of rice each and 9x side dishes are offered. As side dishes are free refills, the total bill became less than $33! Delicious and service is on point!
I have been here a few times throughout the years we have lived in Epping. This place is consistent and serves delicious food, you can tell by the long lines at dinner hours (even on a weekday), best to book.Had KBBQ here last night, ordered pork belly, short ribs, neck meat and ox tongue. Everything is fresh and well portioned. Many side dish choices and refillable (of course). We enjoyed here a lot and will always recommend to people who wants to try korean food for the first time.
My favourite Korean place in Australia. Friends brought me here, and I now love the cuisine. At least 10 refillable side dishes, and very generous portions of meat. Would definitely recommend it for any interaction with friends.
went with friends who enjoyed the bbq, as a vegetarian I ordered tofu bibimbap with no egg (wasnt many other options, but I dont expect much at a bbq!!) wasnt the best bibimbap Ive ever had, I think the gochujang was lacking, however was overall enjoyable. Lots of yummy side dishes. Service was great, staff all very friendly.
