A very hit and miss restaurant. Hot and sour soup (small serve) was really big, and probably enough for 3-4 people, with good flavour. The shallot pancake was pretty bad (but cheap at $5), not much flavour, but quite crispy. The cold bean noodles were good but make sure you mix them quite well, as the flavour is in the bottom. Dumpling was not very good, the dumpling body was quite small, and lacked flavour, and the soup didn’t have much flavour either. We went a subsequent time and waited almost an hour for our food. They kept taking on new customers despite the fact that they only had one chef working

What you get is a taste of Chongqing.Servings are generous and decently priced. They reduced the chilis in my dish probably because I appeared young and they must have assumed I was incapable of the heat.Tea and cold dishes are a plus

Had the minced beef noodles, Dan Dan noodle and wantons for lunch. Quite satisfying. The chilli oil is really nice and they kindly separated it for us as we were sharing that dishes and some cant take hot food. Wanton has soft skin. Yum! theengineereats.com

Tried their cold poached chicken in spicy chilli oil, thinking that it would really be hot. Well i dont mind that it wasnt really spicy, the serving was quite generous, the problem is the chicken was tough n dry. A result of them using leaner organic chooks? Sliced pork belly in mashed garlic n chilli oil, this fared a tad better though the meat is also dry despite being soaked in chilli oil. Maybe i visited on their off day.

I went here on Father’s Day with my partner and saw that the place was moderately busy and filled with people. We waited in line and were seated after about 10 minutes(which is fine), we then flicked through the menu and were pleased by the selection of foods and types of meats as well as the large dishes/hot pots and congee that everyone seemed to be eating. We ordered the cold poached chicken with chilli, handmade dumplings and the stir fried eggplant in sweet and spicy garlic sauce with rice for two. We waited for about 15 minutes for our order to come out together. We got our dumplings and we were very happy with them. But as soon as the other dishes came out, disappointment started to fill us instead the actual food. The poached chicken was dry and had so much chilli oil over it. It looked nice in the picture and in front of us, but it wasn’t flavourful and dry. And it was quite hard to eat because there was a lot of bones. Our eggplant dish was very sour, salty and again oily in taste. It was hard to eat both these dishes because of the amount of oil and richness they had. I completely understand many cuisines use a lot of oil, but these dishes were just too much. They really missed the flavours in these dishes. The dumplings and rose tea were the only highlights. The atmosphere was also noisy because of a crying child in the corner (obviously not the restaurants fault) and when I sat down I was greeted by a large broken bowl at my feet that they didn’t bother cleaning up. So, the dishes were not flavourful and they were oil yand salty. Service was nice there and professional though. But unfortunately I will definitely not come back there again.
