One very good reason to shop local. Dont know the proprietors personally but seem rather passionate about ice cream and gelato.Black sesame, green tea and mango are my go-to choices. If not mistaken buy any 2 tubs free 1 scoop!Didnt see it written down but the server at the time said so.
Really delicious and great icecream. The flavours were abundant, diverse and interesting.Definitely recommend trying Hojicha, black sesame and the black sticky rice.
A really cute ice cream shop with coffee and some really nice fudge and flavours. If you’re in the area I recommend popping in. It is open late as well which is great for after dinner.
Very friendly staff members. They have an wide variety of interesting ice cream flavours; I especially like the genmaicha, hojicha and yuzu flavours. Their moffles are also very well done. I would definitely recommend getting the moffles here. It has a very interesting texture and taste.
Being one of the only ice cream stores on this side of Eastwood, it is a great place to stroll to after a meal and have dessert. They have a wide selection of flavours for ice cream and a selection of waffles if your feeling indulgent. The place is well lit and great for social gatherings. Bear in mind that it is a small shop and seating is limited. The staff are friendly and helpful in selecting your ice cream flavour by insisting you try the flavours.
Max Joy Co. is located on the quieter end of Rowe Street but it’s by no means easy to find parking for at night. This dessert parlour is well-lit and offers quite a range of ice cream made in-store. Recommendations include their black sticky rice and hojicha flavours. On this visit, I tried their moffle, which is basically a waffle made using a glutinous rice batter (making it similar to a grilled mochi) – this is definitely an acquired taste. I personally liked it but would have liked the waffle to be a little thicker so that there is more of the soft mochi texture encased within the crisp exterior, which has a tendency to stick to your teeth. The moffle was teamed with the hojicha ice cream, which has a strong roasted green tea flavour and colour.
$4.95 a scoop, $6.95 two scoops. More expensive than Messina? Extra $1 for ‘premium’ flavours. So i got the Yuzu flavour which was unfortunately ‘premium’. Paid $6 for a scoop. I think the price is pretty outrageous. I’m not sure if I’ll return unless I have to. They also have durian, guava, hojicha, genmaicha, etc. Some flavours are seasonal so just try your luck!
