I actually like the concept of having my own mini hotpot which is done at Red Lantern in Eastwood. After being seated, the lady who served us asked for our soup preference. They have 8 different options including clear, spicy, Japanese miso, bone and beef tomato broth. The restaurant has a decent variety of ingredients, side dishes and sauces. What makes this restaurant have a lower score is the freshness/quality of the ingredients and pricing. While some of the ingredients were standard, there were other ingredients (some fishballs, bamboo shoots and fish) which didn’t taste as good/fresh as other hotpot joints I’ve been to. I also think that the price is a tad expensive – it would’ve cost $36pp for all you can eat hotpot (except we were lucky to have a few vouchers which made it $30pp.. still pricey though). I’ve been to a few places with cheaper pricing and slightly better quality. The service was quite good, the lady who seemed like the owner or manager was quite attentive and the staff were constantly coming by to top up our hotpots with soup. I wouldn’t come running back here, but I’d still pop by this local joint if I’m craving a hotpot fix.
A real Chinese food lover/ hotpot lover will definitely never come back……Plus the restaurant name is so silly in Chinese….Both the soup and sauce taste bland.
Horrible service. The staffs doesn’t understand english that well so they had to ask their son or younger brother in his school uniform to confirm what drinks we wanted (we wanted coke). The choices of food wasn’t that great, and our soup was boiling like crazy and no staff came to pour more soup into ours so it ended up drying up and burning. Definitely do not dine here. There’s plenty in the city or other locations that offer excellent customer service and better food quality
Worst experience I’ve ever come across! I used to rate this place highly, after last nights experience of poor customer service and food quality, I’ve changed my mind. Please don’t go to this place, if you want to satisfy your hot pot cravings, there are plenty of other places.
A decent place for all you can eat hotpot, we had a $40 off voucher from a Groupon and for $25/pp with a beer included, not a bad dealThe concept is mini hotpot with your own hotpot so you can cook whatever and with whatever soup base you choose! #spicyalwaysThey have some fresh seafood such as baby squid, fish but the prawns they had out were pre cooked sad looking prawns *sadface emoticon*They had my favourite dish! Pigs’ blood! So I was happy #iamgrossbutwhocaresOverall, I have gone to better hotpot places but a great place to catch up with your family/ friends and eat until you become a dumpling!
Rude and poor customer service! Booked for dinner at 9pm, arrived and was told that we could only eat what was left over which was barely any food and they would not stock up. Completely wasted my time driving when they could have told me over the phone.
Apparently their phone hasnt been working for a while. Customer service is pretty much putting the menu and stand in front of you. The only nice gesture was the top up soup. None of the meat look fresh. Almost all the vegetables are can vegetable. Wierd salad even for asian. Cleanliness isnt their strenght either, not sure when the last time they wash the water jug. Sadly, i could keep listing faults, but instead, simply wont recommend going there. Should have read the reviews first!
