I kept seeing reviews about the service being bad here, but that wasn’t a problem with us. Waiters weren’t rude, they’re not the most attentive but pretty patient. Their serving sizes are okay too, definitely worry more about ordering too much rather than ordering not enough One thing though, they were very slow, especially with my order. The thing is, they weren’t busy at all. There were only three other couples there at the time. Most of my group already finished their meal, and I was still waiting I probably won’t come again just because there are so many Japanese restaurants in Sydney already.
Amazing Japanese food. Personally go there very occasionally. Both lunch times and dinner times, make sure to check their opening hours before going though! Totally recommend
This is the second time we’ve been here and service really makes your experience. No welcoming when you walk in, just puts the menus down and walks off. We ordered a ramen, a tempura udon and a soft shell crab roll. Everything was tasty bar the ramen, it wasn’t authentic and the soup wasn’t very tasty. Upon leaving my husband wasn’t even asked how our meal was, just a plain $40.80 where he asked what’s $40.80 and the waiter replied ‘your meal’ and after having put the charge through on the card, the waiter just gave my husband the card back and walked off. They had 3 other tables at the time so they weren’t even busy. Fair enough to say we won’t be back, plenty of authentic Japanese restaurants with much more friendlier staff.
Food is nothing I can’t make at home. Also, they start closing at 9 although they state that they close at 10pm so make sure to come before 9. Wouldn’t recommend. There are other better places that are better and cheaper (Tokyo sushi bar,Thai place, Epping hotel etc). Couldn’t be more disappointed. If you’re looking for Japanese food, definitely go to Tokyo sushi bar.

Excellent Sashimi. My boyfriend and I are regulars at Nara Restaurant, and we absolutely adore this place. We always get sashimi, as it is always fresh and high quality. The lunch time specials are a great deal, $15 for a huge plate of salmon sashimi or one of their huge Bento boxes. Dinner is a bit more pricy, but we are students and typically spend around $40 at night (excluding drinks), while still having a huge meal.
Sashimi is good, but for other noodle and rice dishes, zenya in eastwood is way better…
