This cute little tea house brings a unique atmosphere to the regular cafe scene of the central coast. It’s a lovely quiet spot to have a cup of coffee or a tea and the range of drinks and treats on offer are great. The staff are friendly and the seats are cozy, you feel like you could sit and drink endless cups all day. eatventures.net

Quirky decor, friendly staff and delicious cakes – I got takeaway only, but if I had more time to spare I would definitely try the sit-in experience.

Average food. The decor is very inviting but the food is really average and was a huge let down. It was quite an underwhelming experience – the pastries we had were dry/bland and almost felt store bought & service wasn’t the greatest either.

Disappointed. Today was my second experience of the Hatters high tea, an experience I will not be repeating. I could just about handle paying $35 for tea and 3 little sandwiches and tiny little cakes, but the real problem was the customer service, or lack thereof. Apparently, the high tea has a 2 hour window and if you go over that time then it becomes a real issue with the staff (even though no other group was waiting to be seated at the high tea table). No bill was brought to our table to signal that our time was over. Instead glasses were collected noisily. Then as we stood to leave, we were told in no uncertain terms, that next time we should adhere to the time restriction. I feel this could have been handled better, but alas I will never be able to compare as I wont be returning. I realize the $35 covers the ambience, and nice tea cups etc, but really the cakes weren’t special and in some cases made us wince with the strong flavouring.
