Vietnamese? I don’t think so.. This restaurant takes me back to more than twenty years ago when there were hardly any good Asian restaurants in Australia. The sauces – regardless of what you ordered – always tasted the same. Frozen prawns, bland dishes but with today’s prices. We were staying at Ettalong Beach for the weekend and wanted something different than the usual pub fare – well I should I have stuck to the burgers! Never again. I associate Vietnamese food with something fresh with distinct natural flavours – the restaurant had more ‘Chinese’ (eg honey chicken, lemon chicken) dishes on offer than Vietnamese.
Resident Ettalong Beach. The food is fantastic and authentic. However the management unfortunately are not. we had ordered takeaway by phone on a Friday night and were advised to collect 20-25 min. we arrive and wait another 40 min. Inturn we ask how much longer One of the owners a woman replied rudely and also adding to this swears and curses and we should just be patient …. Holly molly I say Its a pity as I am sure we are not the only diners that have experienced this. Miss the food BUT Cannot and will not stand for such idiotic childish and ignorant behaviour.
This place should be shut down. And if the authorities did their job better it would have months ago.
Loved It. I really enjoyed the food and found we had lots leftover as the meals were quite big – I highly recommend the Saigon prawn in crispy young rice for entree – the staff were very friendly and helpful – this is my new favourite place to eat yum yum 🙂
Great Food. I don’t usually write reviews but had to as the food is absolutely gorgeous, they have plenty of gluten free options and it was fresh tasty and extremely good value for money. Probably could do with a few more staff on but apart from that great experience we will be back
My new favourite on the peninsula. This is the first review I have ever posted, I normally limit my comments to just friends. However, after seeing the negative reviews posted I wanted to have my say. This place is excellent. Fast, tasty, friendly, cheap. After my first visit a few months ago, following the recommendation of a friend, I have been back at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Admittedly, I have only dined with a maximum of two others so can’t comment on group experiences. However every time I have been, the interaction with the staff and owners has been tremendous. I would have said it’s the best thing but that’s definitely the generous and excellent dishes, especially the seafood hot pot!!
Great lunch. I am not sure what planet some of the reviewers are from but i have eaten at this restaurant more than half a dozens times and never had bad service, dirty cutlery or plates nor ever a bad dish. Being in the restaurant hospitality game myself and eaten all over the world I can say the food is good, tasty and plentiful at a good price. One lovely dish is the salt and pepper squid or try there $8.50 lunch specials i like the chilli basil pork lunch, very nice. Look this a honest review from myself and my wife and I know plenty of worst places to eat on the central coast. Give it a go and keep a open mind.
