Went for breakfast on a Saturday with 16 friends. Excellent service, tasty meals and surprisingly quick considering we had such a big group.
Located right next to the waters, this place has the best view of Ettalong beach. Despite it was raining today, the restaurant is still quite busy. We had the seafood tasting plate, entree special (mussels and pipi in a white wine sauce), medium rare tuna and the steak sandwich. The seafood was quite nicely done. The tuna was phenomenal and the seafood tasting plate has quite a lot of food to sample. The table of 10 ladies behind us all ordered steak sandwiches! Might be a favourite in the restaurant(?) Staff is very nice and the vibe is quite casual.
Terrible service, we waited 25 minutes for someone to take a drink order, another 15 minutes to get a food order in and then brought the starters and mains out all together and then told us we should take the food. The manager was very dismissive when I raised the issue after the meal
This is the first time I’ve felt the need to write a review for a restaurant. It seemed like the restaurant was completely understaffed as ordering meals was a task as well. The kitchen completely let the restaurant down. I will note that the young waitresses did their best considering the kitchen was definitely behind schedule although no update was ever given as to where our food was or even an apology for the food being delayed for such a long period. We were seated at 7:15, placed an order at 7:30 and then proceeded to sit and wait for an hour and a half to get our meals. As we were seated right at the entrance we could see our oysters sitting there for 20 minutes before being brought to the table. By the time it was consumed they weren’t even cold and fresh which in itself is a health risk..Although the setting is amazing and has so much potential, it isn’t somewhere I would go back. Small things compounded to make it an unenjoyable experience, for example paying $8 for a bowl of overcooked bruised beans and a corona being served with a smushed sliver of lime.
Visited the box on Saturday night staff very prompt friendly good service but that’s where it stopped entree of squid with Asian slaw very chewy fish and chips for main very ordinary could have got the same at the pub for quarter of the price very disappointed won’t be going back
A nice little spot in Ettalong for brunch. Finally something in the area with a water view! You need to book to ensure you get a seat on a busy weekend. The coffee and food are good but a little bit expensive for the area
Went for a nice dinner. Absolutely amazing! Great service and quick cooking time. Had stuffed zucchini flowers, crispy polenta, pork belly and the chips. Would recommend. Not a bad price for a special dinner. Will return!
