What is a visit to the coast without some good ol’ fish and chips. Was feeling pretty hungry so between my partner and I, we shared a Fishermans basket for one, extra battered fish, calamari sides, a dozen fresh Clyde River Oysters, 200g of fresh prawns and seafood sauce. Total came to around $48 which we thought was decent with the fresh seafood in there. Wait time was pretty fast despite quite a few people hovering around. I have to say, the best seafood I have had in forever. I usually get a slimy oil taste but this did not happen at all. Calamari cooked to perfection! Practically melting in my mouth. Two thumbs down for poor customer service though.
Possibly two of the rudest ladies serving I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.Fish was okay and the scallops were good but the chips were extremely ordinary and an incredibly miserly serving. Price wise I considered it expensive compared to other fish and chipperies in the immediate area for the lousy serving I got. Highly debatable as to whether I would go back and I also had to tell the person that recommended them that it was a terrible experience. Hopefully the 2 staff members learn how to smile and treat people like they would like  to be treated.

Get ready to cue but not for long. Went back a second time great again and staff are so willing to help. I always buy flake but had Perch it melted in my mouth. Thank you.
I put in a large order with advance notice on a recent holiday to Batemans Bay. They didn’t have any flake, only offered fried dim sims (not steamed) and the chips were putrid and seemed way overcooked or a couple of days old.I have no idea why this place has a relatively big reputation.
I’ve eaten here twice. Possibly the best fish and chips I’ve eaten. Totally worth a detour. Much better than what’s on offer in Bateman’s Bay. I’ll be back.
