This restaurant has now became my favourite noodle shop. This has now been my fourth visit and still counting. Its a small shop in Fairfield which serves freshly pulled noodles, dumplings and many more delicious delicacies. I ordered the boiled dumplings, stir fried chopped noodles with lamb, hand pulled noodles with sweet and sour soup and lamb skewers. The boiled dumplings were delightful. The filling was flavoursome and the wrappers were cooked perfectly. The lamb skewers is another must! The meat was both fatty and meaty with a generous amount of chilli and cumin. It was my first time having the chopped noodles and it reminded me of pasta. The noodles are the same as they hand pulled noodles but chopped with scissors. Furthermore, the sweet and sour soup with hand pulled noodles were very flavoursome and delicious! The noodles are always cooked to perfection!
Lived in Beijing for a year and was surprised when I found a restaurant that offered all of the dishes that I was able to order whilst abroad. I ordered the , spicy beef handmade noodles and the texture is as I remembered from my time abroad. The , marinated pork and tofu in Chinese baked bun was a bit doughy but delicious nevertheless. My family ordered the handmade noodles in braised beef soup + the handmade noodles in hot and sour soup and they both finished their bowls.Would recommend to those looking for an authentic taste of northern Chinese food. Will be coming back again.
Nice hidden gem in Fairfield. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup was really flavourful and peppery. The dumplings were slightly on the doughier side but taste great nonetheless. Just dont expect the waitress to smile when she serves you.
Came here because we didn’t want to travel all the way to the city for decent beef noodle soup.Fairfield noodle house is a cosy restaurant with really nice assortment of Chinese food. We ordered spicy beef noodle soup, pan fried pork dumplings and hand made noodles with sour cabbage but instead of lamb we asked for beef – a change they didn’t seem to mind making at all. The service was quick and our food arrived in a timely manner. The portions for the noodles was imo, large, plenty of noodles, sour cabbage and meat. The dumplings were crispy on the bottom and meat inside was still juicy. All in all, will be coming back.No pics though, started eating too fast.
Came here for dinner with my partner after work and we ordered steamed pork dumplings, steamed chicken and cold noodles with chicken as recommended by the waitress. We were given a plate of kimchi before our meal arrived which had the strongest smell of onion, I don’t mind the smell of onion but this smell was unbearable. The pork dumplings were far from good, they were actually tasteless. My partner enjoyed her steamed chicken saying it was ok and my cold noodles, left me quite unsatisfied. Everyone has different taste but my cold noodles were full of seaweed which made it salty and only had a tiny bit of chicken which made it seem like I’d ordered cold noodles with seaweed as opposed to cold noodles with chicken. The noodles themselves were quite rubbery and hard to chew and for a can of soft drink it costs $4.00. Hardly worth your money or maybe we ordered the wrong food
Went there for dinner. The star is the handmade noodles or ‘la mian’ and it did not disappoint! When you bite into the noodles you can just feel it was handmade by its texture. The soup was also good! Also had the tripe or pig stomach it’s offal but really good! Quite spicy. The lamb skewers were good. The spiciness was there but a little under.Shall be back!
First time here and really good food. They handmade the noodles. I had the pork and tofu bun, a bit more saltier than expected but still good to eat. Had the dumpling noodle soup and that was delicious.
