Happily Surprised. I had heard this place was a rough pub and that the food was going to be a bit risky. So organising a work lunch there (we are across the road) was a gamble. What a surprise. The food was absolutely fantastic pub food and I can honestly say the design your own surf and turf was the best i’ve had in any restaurant in NSW (and i’ve had a fair few). Staff were very friendly and were really happy to see us. We got 11 people fed and watered for under $350 and will definetely do it again.This was a Thursday night just after Origin, so maybe it was the calm after the story, but I was happy enough to go back a second time on the weekend and found it just as good and full of locals.Give it a go. it’s not a fine dining posh boutique bar, but it’s homely and the price and food is right.

Just when they get a decent manager who seems to be making a difference, they replace them and it all goes pear shape again. The marketing of this hotel is pathetic. Hardly anything is ever done to entice people to visit and then stay for a while. The building is in poor repair. Make sure you bring an umbrella if it’s raining hard because it will be raining inside as well. Satisfactory service and food is dependent upon which staff are on duty at the time. Generally the patrons are a friendly bunch of people who only keep coming back as there are no other hotels nearby. A bit of competition might light the candle again.
