Extremely overrated. Servings are big and there are some unique sushi offerings but food overall is very average and not extremely fresh. That being said, still decent value and a great local offering.
Food was okay but not good or great. Service is hopeless. The second time I was here, no one would pass us a menu for about 10 minutes after being sat down inside even though there were only three other tables occupied at the time. We just got up and left, still no one seems to notice or care.
Wow. The food here is great. It’s definitely not your typical sushi place. The chefs here have put a twist on what we know as sushi and created some amazing dishes. Be warned though, the chef specials are very, very big. I could barely finish the plate I had.
Really fresh sushi and tasty authentic sushi, but the service is slow and music always a little too loud. Great place for a healthy lunch after a day at the beach. Good sushi on the beaches.
Beyond exceptional. The service and food mirrors some of Sydney’s best. This restaurant delivers. The sashimi was fresh, the nigiri’a rice was perfectly seasoned and the bento box’s presented well. The value for money is phenomenal My only flaw (and I’m nitpicking here) was that the salad was underdressed. Besides that, this restaurant is sublime. The establishments in the CBD have much to learn. Will definitely be back
Mostly only known to fellow freshies or nthern beachers, sushi hiro is quite the hidden gem. They have a bewildering array of sushi, rice, udon, soba, ramen and meal sets. I have yet to sample everything on my previous visits. Recommend their lotus root chips 3.25/5, fried oysters 3.25/5, sashimi sets (any size) 3.5/5, generous slices of fresh sashimi unlike those served by some franchise type shops.
Fresh, clean and friendly. Had the Katsu chicken here and it was great. Good size portion with rice, salad and miso soup for around $15. Staff very friendly, food is fresh and the place looked clean. Will be back.
