Although right on closing time, at 7pm on Sunday, no less, the owners of the bakery welcomed us into the store. Perhaps they sensed our desperation as I sought out the last loaf of sliced white bread for sandwiches for the kids school lunches the next day. They also very kindly gave us a complimentary loaf of wholemeal bread.
