Decided to try delivery from this joint. Got some burgers (Wagyu and chicken) and the deep fried southern chicken. Burgers were pretty strange. These cams with super weird sauces. I had the chicken burger and I think less is more in this scenario. The burger had too many elements that it was a confusing burger to eat. Was not disgusting but was not delicious either. I was getting hits of sour cream with sweet brioche and sour kimchi. Just a confusing dish. My partner had the wagyu burger. This was also strange. The meat was overcooked and the burger was drenched in some sauce. The sauce smelt very strange and made us feel that it was off (when it wasnt). They also gave us heaps of sauces but the sauce did not taste good and was rather off putting. The southern fried chicken was ok, but I wouldnt get it again. Was plain and there was no good sauce to go with the chicken. I will definitely not be back!
Different Drummer has always been good for a late night suburban place, lots of interesting people there. Never thought much of the food though. They used to have tapas, that was ok. Now its overcooked burgers, crinkle cut chips – they spice it well but crinkle cut chips are always packaged crap – and fried chicken thats pretty good, tender and spicy but served with a McDonalds burger bun. Still great for drinks but I dont want to eat there again.
