I was thrilled when Jambo Jambo re-opened in Glebe. We used to go here all the time when it was in Crows Nest (one of the rare times I would cross the bridge) and it was always worth the experience. Now it’s much closer to my neighbourhood.I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The food is great – have loved everything I’ve eaten here, but generally focus more on the Wotts (spicier version). You can either eat with picking up food with the bread (injera) or cutlery is available in need.As good as the food is, it’s really the owner that brings this to life. Joseph is a force of nature. He greets every customer like a long lost friend. And he always looks after us excellently – we don’t even need to order any more because he knows what we like.Great location, great food, great atmosphere, give this a go. You won’t be disappointed.
This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and the experience was quite nice. For entrees, the sambusa pastry was okay, flavoursome but a bit dry for me. For mains, the key wot slow cooked beef and lamb were my favourites. Its labelled as hot but its a very mild level of spice. It comes served on a very large piece of bread (more like a thick crepe) and more rolled up as well. The Ethiopian coffee was really nice to end the meal. Service was lovely as well.
