Quite good, especially the cooked dishes. Highlights were the agadashi tofu, grilled salmon sushi and the beef noodle dish. I would definitely go again for these comforting Japanese dishes.
The ramen is quite nice with a really flavoursome broth!! However the serving of chicken was quite small and the cooking of it could be improved. The service was average. Its really just a place for a quick meal – but nothing fancy or wowing thats for sure.
Come here for a no fuss dinner. Good service, prompt arrival of all food… Tasty, fast, no fuss food in a quaint setting perfect for your busy weekday if you’re in the area for Japanese. Prices are very reasonable, our 4 dishes cost $65 in total. We’ll be back for more no doubt.
Nice, simple, cheap local Japanese. Nothing special, but always fresh and tasty. Great for a quick if week dinner. Been here a few times and always consistent.
Ok wow, this place is way better than the last time I was here, years ago. New management for sure. This is seriously good now. Great miso – perfectly balanced, silky smooth and full bodied. And the grilled sushi was awesome! Had the Rainbow (crab meat, avocado and grilled salmon on top) and grilled salmon combo. Friendly, suburban service with the speed and efficiency of the big city. A little Japanese gem in Glebe.
HAPPY TUMMY METER: 4 out of 5 HAPPY WALLET METER: 4 out of 5we got the chance to visit Glebe area this time….. and of course based on Local’s recommendation we tried MIYA Teriyaki Japanese cuisine…. The restaurant is not to far to drive from the city or if you catch a bus, it stops right outside the restaurant… so convenient! 🙂 So then we start with locals favourite and now officially our FAV dish as well is their AGEDASHI TOFU… it’s sooo yummmmm….. the Best we tried in Sydney so far…. 😀 Then we continue with some sushi & sashimi platter which is so fresh and they cut it perfectly…. We also had their Beef Teppanyaki with beef so juicy and tender we didn’t realize we finished it so quickly! hehehe… Volcano Sushi Roll and Prawn Tempura Udon is also on the table…… they pretty much end our day perfectly… 🙂 Thanking the owner as well for their hospitality who came to our table every now and then to make sure everything’s ok and that we satisfied with the cooking…. they’re so friendly I feel like eating fresh from mom’s kitchen! ;p Recommended Japanese ‘family’ restaurant if you happened to work or live around Glebe…. 🙂
Fast and well priced but pretty average in terms of quality. The family had teriyaki chicken bento boxes and a sizzling plate of teriyaki beef, the tempura prawns weren’t proper tempura batter, more like fish and chips style pre made with that orange batter. Highlight was probably the teriyaki chicken although nothing was particularly outstanding. Not sure I’d recommend or visit again, but if you’re hungry and in a hurry, might be worth a shot.
