A group of us went there on Sun 15 Dec 2019. The Sunday roast beef was chewy and the yorkshire pudding was burnt. For $30 we expected more. It had to be the worst Sunday roast we’ve had in Sydney. We didnt finish our food. The ambiance and music was good.
Sophisticated and moody, the Glebe Hotel is a great venue to grab a feed and enjoy a drink or two.Chargrilled Octopus was cooked to perfection and the salsa verde and aioli helped mask the heavy charred flavour. Handmade Gnocchi tasted incredible and the gnocchi was so soft to bite into. A little on the stodgy side, I think the gnocchi itself was a bit dense for my liking. Roast Beetroot Salad was a great side dish – great flavours and colour. Butterscotch Pannacotta was a delicious way to end the night. Silky in texture, the pannacotta contrasted beautifully with the nuttiness of the pistachio and cinnamon crumble. Also, wobble factor was at its peak which, let’s be honest, is always the best part of a pannacotta. If you’d like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos! My thanks to The Glebe Hotel and Pendulum Communications for the invite.
Formerly known as The Australian Youth Hotel, The Glebe Hotel is a gastro pub taking food offering a few notches up from the norm. Classic pub meals like schnitzels, burgers, fish and chips are on the menu to satisfy day-to-day cravings while customers can also indulge in something a bit more sophisticated.
Top service, staff were friendly and attentive. We headed here for Sunday lunch and ordered the battered fish burger, duck ragu, steak sandwich and poached chicken salad. Fries were well seasoned and crunchy, battered fish was light and crispy. Steak sandwich was juicy and generous. Great spot for a pub lunch, wonderful renovation for an inner west pub
