The fun thing about Teppanyaki restaurants is the entertainment. You can have a chef cooking in front of you but what makes the experience unique is the banter, the humour and the ambience that the chef creates for the patrons.Looking from the outside, this restaurant looks unassuming but the service was brilliant exactly what we needed to brighten up an evening. We went for a couple of the set menus. Whilst, it may seem pricey, its actually pretty decent value for money for teppanyaki. Our chef was funny and tried to create a rapport with each of the patron groups upon suiting. The jokes transcend cultural and language barriers. The entertainment with the eggs is fun. It’s a BYO joint, so pls gather your alcohol prior. Lovely place and lovely service. Kids will love this place. Total cost of $140 for 4 people. Highly recommend – even if it is located in Gordon .
Good food for a reasonably cheap price, and friendly and funny staff who are always ready for a little banter hahaha. If I remember correctly, I loved their chicken and kept ordering more. Not bad considering the place doesn’t look very fancy or pretty. It’s clean, simple and makes good food.

I was a little bit curious to see if they would be able to pull off the Teppanyaki experience given it’s such a small venue but they did so superbly and then some! Food and service were great. Luckily my catching abilities were 10/10 on the day too.
Pricey, but provide good services and deliciously made teppanyaki. Nice ambiance and friendly chef that will throw food onto your bowl if you request for it.
The Best Teppanyaki on the North Shore. We’ve been going to Fujiya for 11 years since it opened and the quality, price and ambience hasn’t changed – all are fantastic. The owner Jack and his wife are so lovely and really take pride in their restaurant. All of the food is very fresh and cooked to perfection. The chefs are all very friendly with loads of experience – including throwing the food at you which is part of the fun of teppanyaki. Their menu is fairly traditional teppanyaki and the price is standard for other restaurants – and hasn’t gone up over the years which is great. We always get the $43 Nagoya set which is huge and always too much for us to finish but with such delightful flavours along the way. Being BYO keeps the cost down but this place is honestly worth the money. Fantastic Japanese.
