Stopped overnight in Goulburn and we were recommended to try the Hibernian for dinner. My hubby and I ordered medium – rare steak. We both agreed this was quite possibly the best steak either of us have ever had. They proudly use locally aged beef (100 days air aged), and local produce where possible. Our meal was superb and we are making Goulburn our regular overnight stop when traveling between family in NSW and our home in Victoria.

Nice pub food. Good menu and kids menu. Cheap deals most nights. We visited on the $12 steak night and my hubby being my hubby still ordered the $32 steak. He wanted veggies and mash potato. They wanted to charge $4.50 for mash instead of chips. What a load of crock. Purely on principle I ordered him chips. Meals were good, bit slow considering we were the 3rd order of the night and it wasn’t busy yet.

Entertaining!. Went on a Monday night expecting it to be relatively quiet. Not so! The place was buzzing and we were lucky to get a table (should have booked). Turns out Monday is $12 schnitzel night, but when we ordered, no one was ordering the schnitzel. I can only assume that they came for the other quality meals on offer. We got 3 meals. A steak (ordered medium well) and two burgers (beef and bacon, and a tandoori chicken). Steak was well done but came with such a delicious relish that I did not mind and the two burgers were by all accounts delicious. The wine list was also fairly decent (nothing too pricey, but tasty nonetheless). However, I think the entertainment is what made the night. A brass band complete with tuba is always interesting and it really added to the atmosphere.Friendly and helpful bar staff also made this a good night.

I have been her for dinner many tines and each time it is fantastic! The bistro style food is absolutely delicious and very well priced. I always love going here for tea!
