  I can’t give any less which is a shame – we were forced to have trust the chef a few weeks ago for a girls night out and it was terrible – especially after it wasn’t explained when we bookedwhen you think italian – fish tacos isn’t the first thing that comes to mind along with over dressed duck salad the cocktails were lacking and the overbearing bar man was a punish

  never again, rude/noisy/dark/dingybooked sat 30/7 arvo for 6.30 last sat nite,told only 6pm sitting n had to be out by 8pm which was ok.got sms confirming booking from managerarrived 6pm ,about 10 people there,and rudely told no booking made,spoke with manager(confirmation sms from his name ?) he said we were wrong and that booking was for previous nite?showed him his confirmation sms and he said must be an error?we had dined at italian stallion twice before, expensive but food ok,no byo so expensive drinks.anyway walked across street to La Cuchina,what a difference,no booking,warm frindly staff,made feel welcome/byo wine/food fabulous/bellisimodont bother with italian stallion,go straight to la cuchina

  Great restaurant! The food is fantastic, the signature duck salad is the best salad I’ve ever had. Our waiter was great, very knowledgeable of the menu and was good fun. Will definitely be going back.

  Our second visit to this restaurant. Due to their policy we arrived for our 8pm booking only to be told that our table was not ready and we had to wait until their 6pm sitting had their dessert and paid. While we waited outside for our table another group of six arrived and we’re show to their table in front of us.When we finally were rung at 8.30pm that our table was ready we had already been seated and ordered at a restaurant across the street.Pretty disappointing on all account from a place we had previously enjoyed

  We drive all the way from Newcastle to Gymea to have dinner at The Italian Stallion. That’s 320 kms for the return journey. The food has to be something special for you to do that. James Watson is a standout chef. His Duck Salad is succulent, as is the Lamb, the Beef, the Scallops, the Crab Linguini, and the amazing white onion butter served with the bread course. You get the drift. Everything on the menu is lip smacking delicious. Praise also to Fabio who has to be the world’s most charming and helpful waiter. Did I mention the cocktails? I need to stop now … The long journey down is one of anticipation. The journey home sees us smiling contentedly.

  We had a we had a table for six which included a couple who were not sure on what ithe food would be like. The night was great. Everyone had a great meal and the staff were attentive. It was only our second visit but their house special linguini dish with crab and chilli was, dare I say, to die for. So was the desert cannaloni with chocolate and cherries. Worth a try.

  Definitely would not recommend. Everything was great until the last 20min when the waiter misled us into thinking cocktails were included in the $60 per head banquet. We thought that was strange so we asked if he was sure they were included to which 8 of us on the table heard him say yes. Next thing there was $180 extra on the bill and none of us even drank the cocktail because we were all driving. $105 person, way too much and management were crap when we raiser the issue, didn’t even care.
